Spring Kickoff, Reinvented
Because of COVID-19, we are not hosting the standard Spring Kickoff event at the gardens. But we do still want to connect with everyone to answer questions, go over some new safety procedures, and make a plan for getting the garden ready in a socially distanced way.
If you’d like to see the smiling faces that make up our 2020 membership, join us at 6pm on Thursday, April 23 on Zoom. We’ll also cover the plan to prep the garden over the weekend by taking on individual roles.
All members should have already received the Zoom link through email. If you did not get it and you want to join us, send us an email or message on Facebook.
COVID-19 Guidelines for Safe Community Gardening
At the Zoom we’ll chat with you more about what we’re doing to make community gardening safer during this pandemic. As an overview, we will be asking gardeners to bring your own tools when possible, wear gloves and masks, and clean hoses and spigots before and after use. We’ll provide a spray bottle with disinfectant at the garden to make cleaning easier, but you are also welcome to bring your own wipes or spray.
We’re also moving our volunteer hours log online instead of using a shared notebook in the greenhouse. As of right now, the greenhouse is not open for member use. If you want to help plan a way to safely use the greenhouse, we’re open to ideas.
